The challenge was not only to provide Beachcities with a consistent visual image, but also to create elements that could easily be changed and updated every week. Pre-printed templates was part of the answer, so they could use their own computers and in-house inkjet printers to over-print the colorful templates on a weekly basis.
The Visual Identity Design Project included:
Concept and Strategy Developement, logo evolution, letterhead, weekly bulletin, calendar templates, basic web site, typography and other miscellaneous elements.
Having been ordained in spring 1985, young pastor Kent Sparks was interning at a Huntington Beach Baptist church and looking for a permanent church appointment when he began discipling 10 Newport Beach-area friends — men who, at a late-summer moment when Kent was least expecting it, came forward to ask if he would be interested in planting a new church. From the original 20 or so adults, Beachcities Community Church has grown to a point where more than 1,000 people now call it their church home.
