After having spent every Wednesday for two months at Baci di Roma, it was time to go to work. The restaurant needed a surge of new guests, and it was the website that was first on our list. Other marketing activities were also discussed and scheduled.
The old website was invisible for searchengines, was not able to keep people (large bouncerate) and it did not bring anything to it's brick-and-morter counterpart. In our usual manner, we listened, we tasted the food, talked to the guests, the employees and the owner. Soon we had a plan. We had to make the site human. It needed to reflect the atmosphere and feel that we discovered there over time so people wanted to come adn see the real thing. Custom photography is key since stock photography is never personal.
What we did not expect was that people now stayed on the website for almost 13 minutes on average. That is amazing for a local restaurant site. It was like people could not get enough of the pictures and the emotions it brought. To keep up the traffic, you need to ride the wave and keep it up. That is the hard part, but its necessary. It's like driving a car. If you want to reach your final destination, you have to keep filling up the tank.
But it was not only the site who experienced
more visitors, the actual restaurant has also been picking up business. That's when we are happy with our job. Definitively ROI for everyone.
